I'm Still Standing Where You Left Me
Fiction, Poetry Posted onAugust 11, 2020August 12, 2020

I’m Still Standing Where You Left Me

I’m still standing where you left me
like the fool that I am
not even worth a single note
not worth a single damn of your time
I’m still standing where you left me
I don’t know why I’m still here
the only thing that I know is
I don’t want you back no more

Quotes:

“Love hurts the same whether you’re sixteen or twenty-six.”

“When you ignored my texts and missed my calls that night, / that was what freedom from you tasted like.”

“If it was love, it would have been everything we had hoped for / but it wasn’t, so we both had found the other at fault.”

“I’m happier now, learned a lesson from that unholy week / after finding a part of me that you didn’t break.”
