Tenth of July

The bed is made up on the side where you slept,
and from here onwards,
I’ll be waking up with tears streaming down my face.

Quotes:

“Love hurts the same whether you’re sixteen or twenty-six.”

“When you ignored my texts and missed my calls that night, / that was what freedom from you tasted like.”

“If it was love, it would have been everything we had hoped for / but it wasn’t, so we both had found the other at fault.”

“I’m happier now, learned a lesson from that unholy week / after finding a part of me that you didn’t break.”
